After opening my company in 2001 I wanted to achieve more, network with
others in the same field, and set the standard in my community as a leading
designer. I began to do the very same thing as you, searching diligently on the
web to find quality training and join the leading trade organizations in the
industry. In 2004, I carved my niche in the redesign and staging industry by
taking a hands-on training course to learn the procedural steps of redesign.
After training I joined the Interior Design Society and IRIS organizations for
credentials, networking and trade resources. This began my journey to making
a successful and lucrative business in a career I would never change in a
New York minute.
As someone who works full-time in this field my training philosophy is simple.
We enter this field with diverse work experiences, education backgrounds and
unique style whether related to design or not. During the seminar I consider
myself your mentor into this field. Knowing my position is to instruct, direct
and illustrate every aspect of the decorating and staging business I still enjoy a
more collaborative style of teaching. I will encourage your creativity, opinions
on subjects, business ideas and make sure you receive the best training for your
time and investment. After seminar I will consider you a colleague someone
who I will enjoy mentoring, networking and sharing the same profession with.
On a more personal note about KDI Academy training ...
I look forward to hearing from you,
Kimberly
Kimberly received recognition as an award winning assistant merchandiser
for J.C. Penney Home Furniture, including accolades for her beautiful displays.
Her entrepreneurial spirit has brought various experiences of work into her life.
While living in Jerusalem, Israel she took the opportunity to redesign residential
and commercial interiors and create store front window displays. Kimberly
states "living in Jerusalem with such diverse cultures, architecture and history
was an experience of a life time." After returning to the States she became
designer and decorative paint specialist for Urbanik Paint Company where her individual services for residential and commercial design took precedence until opening her company.
Sharing a few photos of a project that is dear to my heart...
After much needed restoration this magnificent historical
building in Downtown, Utica became the new home of
Kids Oneida.
As the commissioned designer for this project I made it
my mission to create a place that was filled with vitality
and comfort for children and parents to feel welcomed.
The artwork throughout the first two floors were created
with acrylic paint on gallery wrapped canvases by children
ages 4 - 96 (my great aunt)!
